Wholesome Minds Support Group- Crisis Advice
The Wholesome Minds Support Group meets twice a month with the objective of supporting the attendees through providing; teaching in areas of mental health, sharing of good practice, developing personal mental health strategies and when necessary, sign posting attendees to counselling services, family therapy or CAMHS.
You are encouraged to reflect on any current mental health strategies you have learnt during the group sessions and to consider applying them to see if this relieves the current crisis. You may have developed an effective management strategy that has helped you previously in a time of crisis and you are encouraged to reflect on this.

Please note if you are worried about your safety or you consider your crisis to be life-threatening, you are encouraged to go directly to A&E or dial 999. This would be treated as a Mental Health Emergency. If you are in crisis the following is a guideline, that is encouraged by the Mental Health Support Group you currently attend.

Step 1. If you have already been given a contact for the group co-ordinator from the Mental Health Support Group, please ring on 020 86824527 or 07388 299104 and leave a message. If an existing mental health problem has got worse and you need urgent care, you can call NHS 111 or Call the Wandsworth Community Mental Health team on 020 3513 5000 or the Crisis Line on 0800 028 8000, 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, 24 hours Saturday and Sunday.

Step 2. If you have already been given a Crisis Line number from a health professional, call it. If you're under the care of a mental health team and have a specific care plan that states who to contact when you need urgent care, follow this plan.

Step 3. The Samaritans have a free-to-call service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, if you want to talk to someone in confidence about how you are feeling. Call them on 116 123. Shout offers confidential 24/7 crisis text support for times when you need immediate assistance. Text "SHOUT" to 85258.
Step 4. You can contact your GP surgery and ask for an emergency appointment. In a crisis, you should be offered an appointment with the first available doctor.

Step 5. You can also download a free crisis plan from the charity called MIND on https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/guides-to-support-and-services/crisis-services/helplines-listening-services/#.XdPisnd2skF
